Study proves that after only 10 Days 8 out of 9 participants showed improved insulin sensitivity and lipid profiles with the Paleo Diet!
The study compared changes in health markers when the participants switched from their regular diet to the Paleo Diet. The participants followed a strict paleo diet, consisting of lean meats, fruits, veggies, nuts and excluded the usual non-paleo foods; cereal grains, dairy, legumes, sugar, etc.
The results were insane. I figured the results would be in favor of the paleo diet, however I didn't think it would be so clear. The results claim that "either eight or nine" of all the participants showed consistent improvements on all health markers.
The findings showed better insulin sensitivity and the ability to handle glucose in the blood. This is likely due to not being bombarded with sugar from all of the carbohydrates ingested by the average American. The study also showed an improved lipid profile. This throws the lipid hypothesis out of the window.
This study proves that even for a short time, the paleo diet is the diet we were meant for! It's no surprise, just positive reinforcement I suppose. :)
