Pac NW Fresh Caught Steelhead Recipe

Salmon Steelhead Recipe
One of the many benefits of living in Oregon is that along with the landscape, we're also treated with a variety of wildlife which makes for great fishing!

I was lucky enough to pull out a couple steelhead from the Wilson River [drift boat] this week and obviously cooked some up for dinner.

I love steelhead because just like salmon, it's high in protein and has healthy omega 3 fats! I've provided my favorite salmon/steelhead recipe below, check it out!
Steelhead Recipe
Well, there's me and my dinner that took over 10 minutes to land. This beauty was on it's way in from the ocean (where it'd been for ~3 years) before coming up the Wilson River (where it was born) in an effort to spawn.

Whether you're lucky enough to catch one of these bad-boys or decide to take the easy route and make a quick trip to the store for some salmon or steelhead, you're going to want to try this recipe because the rosemary pairs with salmon/steelhead in an unbelievable way that you must try. 

It's easy, quick and a great reason to bust out the bbq!

BBQ Steelhead Recipe

Instructions

  1. Poor gluten-free soy sauce over fish and season. Let sit for about 20 mins
  2. Get the bbq going. About 350 degrees
  3. Place a slice of butter and lemon slice on top of each salmon fillet
  4. When the bbq is at 350-400 degrees, add the fish (skin down) for about 12-20 mins. 
  5. Squeeze lemon juice over your fillet and enjoy with a side of veggies!

Ingredients

  • Rosemary (fresh or dried)
  • Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
  • Pepper
  • Gluten-Free Soy Sauce
  • Grass-Fed Butter
  • Lemon
